Placecard Terms of Use
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms apply to your use of the Placecard app ("the app"), made by Johan Pienaar, trading as Slatefox ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.
Apple's standard licence also applies
Placecard is licensed, not sold. Your use is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms add to it; if anything here conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA prevails for your use on Apple devices.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Placecard on Apple devices you own or control, for your own event-planning purposes. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except as allowed by law or the Apple EULA.
Purchases
The app is free to try with some limits. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full version (unlimited tables and saved layouts, and PDF & CSV export). Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to the App Store's terms; refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. The unlock applies to your Apple ID and can be restored on your devices.
Your content
Everything you create in Placecard - events, guests, tables and seating plans - is yours, and it stays on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping your own backups. We have no access to your data and cannot recover it for you if a device is lost, reset, or the app is deleted.
Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully and don't misuse it or attempt to disrupt or compromise it.
No warranty
Placecard is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slatefox will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data arising from your failure to keep backups. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version; continued use of the app means you accept the current terms.
